Scapin's Cabinets
The play revolves around the comic intrigues of two young men who resist their families' plans to marry them off to undesirable partners. Scapin helps Octave and Leandre. Octave loves a girl named Hyacinthe, but his mother Argante tries to marry him off to someone else. Leandre loves the gypsy Zerbinette, but his father Géronte wants to marry him off to another woman.
Scapin, with his cunning and intrigues, makes plans to fix these complicated relationships. He organizes deceptions, forges letters and triggers a series of comic events. In the end, thanks to Scapin's cleverness, the young men manage to marry their desired partners and thwart their families' plans. The play contains classic comedy elements and deals with universal themes such as human relationships, family dynamics and intrigue.
